The Whitney Glacier is a 10 km long glacier in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains, it flows from Mount Ellsworth in a northeasterly direction to the Amundsen Glacier , which it reaches south of Robinson Bluff .
It was discovered and mapped during the American Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–1930). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier in 1967 after the American meteorologist for Raymond L. Whitney, who worked at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the winter of 1961 .
