Wiebke Frost (born April 2, 1962 in Buchholz in the Nordheide ) is a German actress .

Career

Wiebke Frost grew up in Jesteburg . He then completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and at the Lee Strassberg Workshop in the USA.

She got her first engagement at the theater in 1986 at the Schauspielhaus Wuppertal where she played for two years. Since then she has been on several stages and has had numerous appearances all over Germany and internationally. She was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater in the directorship of Claus Peymann and played among others: Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice (director: Peter Zadek ), Bianca in Othello (director: George Tabori). This was followed by a permanent engagement at the Schillertheater Berlin, guest engagements at the Berliner Ensemble and the Schauspielhaus Bochum, where she began her first collaboration with Jürgen Kruse in Bluthochzeit , which she continued at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in tryin 'Othello . In Venice and Berlin she could be seen in 2002 and 2006 as the artist museum Alma in Joshua Sobol's Alma (director: Paulus Manker ). At the Bad Hersfeld Festival , she played Countess Capulet in Romeo and Juliet , directed by Arie Zinger.

Since 1990 Frost has also worked for film and television in Germany, Austria and France. She made her debut in Malina alongside Isabelle Huppert, among others .

In 2007 she played a role in the French film Insomnie ( Je ne vous oublierai jamais ), directed by Pascal Kané . The film premiered in Paris on July 6, 2008.

From 2009 to 2012 she was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Hannover. 2013 to 2014 guest engagement at the Schauspiel Frankfurt in the production "Die Nibelungen" (director: Jorinde Dröse). From 2017 to 2018 she was a guest at Theater Basel.

Frost lives in Berlin and plays in various TV and film productions.
