Wiebrecht Ries (* 1940 ) is a German philosopher .

Life

Ries studied philosophy and German at the University of Basel , the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Ruprecht Karls University of Heidelberg . 1967 Ries was a literary thesis on Nietzsche doctorate . In 1974 he obtained his habilitation in the field of philosophy with a religious-philosophical treatise on Kafka . From 1978 until his retirement he was professor of philosophy at the Leibniz University of Hanover .
