Andree Wiedener (born March 14, 1970 in Helmstedt ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

At a young age, Wiedener played for Velpker SV and TSV Bahrdorf . He began his professional career at SV Werder Bremen , with whom he was able to celebrate his greatest successes as a footballer. He was German champion with Werder in 1993 and runner-up in 1995 and won the DFB Cup twice : in 1994 and 1999 . Wiedener mainly played on the left full-back position. He compensated for his technical deficits with his speed and enormous enthusiasm, which made him a crowd favorite at the Weser Stadium . In January 2002 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt and rose to the Bundesliga twice and once relegated with Hessen . In January 2006 he had to end his career because of a pubic bone inflammation .

During the Bundesliga match between SV Werder Bremen and Hertha BSC on February 11, 2000, after a duel with Marko Rehmer, Wiedener swallowed his tongue as a result of an impact and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, unconscious and at risk of death. The next day, however, the all-clear was given, and four weeks later Wiedener was operational again.

In the second half of the 2006/07 season Andree Wiedener played for SC Dortelweil in the Frankfurt-West regional league. He also plays in the traditional team of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Today the trained toolmaker is a sales representative in wholesalers for floor coverings and construction chemicals . He currently lives in Leeheim .
