The Vienna sausage , shortly Vienna , is one in Austria spread cut sausage. The similarity of the name to Wiener Würstchen is coincidental.

Wiener Wurst consists of beef and pork as well as bacon and spices . In addition, nitrite , flavor enhancers and ice added. The ingredients are ground and then roughly chopped in a cutter , filled into artificial casings and then hot smoked . Another variant is the Polish , which has a higher meat and lower fat content. Since the name Wiener Wurst is defined in the Austrian food book and therefore certain minimum requirements apply with regard to the composition, some companies market similar sausage types under other names such as Jausenwurst or Tyrolean.
