Viennese leaves

The Viennese Glagolitic leaves are two parchment pages from an illuminated manuscript from the late 11th or early 12th century in Church Slavonic in Glagolitic script . They may have originated in Dalmatia .

The sheets contain the text from 1 Corinthians 4 : 9–16 for the liturgical reading ( Apostolar fragment). They are considered the oldest surviving evidence of a Croatian form of Old Church Slavonic.

In 1890 they were discovered by Vatroslav Jagić and given to Vienna . Today they are in the Austrian National Library in Vienna.
