Wiershorst

Until May 31, 1973, Wiershorst was a municipality in the Salzwedel district in the Magdeburg district , German Democratic Republic .

history

On April 1, 1935, the communities Deutschhorst (with the district Nipkendey) and Wiersdorf in the district of Salzwedel were merged to form a community with the name Wiershorst. Nipkendey came to the rural community of Deutschhorst when the manor district of Deutschhorst was dissolved on October 17, 1928.

The seat of the community was in Deutschhorst.

In 1945, in the course of the land reform, 305 hectares were expropriated and divided among 37 settlers. In 1948 there were reports of 38 buyers from the land reform, including 30 new settlers.

In 1953 the first type III agricultural production cooperative was established, the LPG "Morgenrot", which in 1955 was connected to LPG type III "Erich Weinert" in Ellenberg. In 1958 the LPG "Glückauf" type I was established, which was then also connected to the LPG "Erich Weinert" in Ellenberg in 1958.

Incorporation

On June 1, 1973, the municipality of Wiershorst was incorporated into the municipality of Ellenberg. It was dissolved and its districts Deutschhorst, Wiersdorf and Nipkendey came to Ellenberg.
