Wiesental (Bochum)
The Wiesental is a green corridor and a park landscape that was created in the 1950s in the valley of the Marbach in Bochum-Weitmar . The green corridor ends in Bochum-Ehrenfeld . There is also a small pond in the Wiesental, parts of the park are designated as dog exercise areas.
From the 1930s to the 1980s, there was a restaurant here, the "Café Wiesengrund". The house was badly damaged by a bomb on October 9, 1944 during World War II. All 37 people in it lost their lives in the air raid shelter under the house.
In 1950 the Blau-Weiß Bochum swimming pool was built. In the 1970s, the Bochum Radrennbahn was closed and replaced by residential buildings.
