Wietse second Venema

Wietse zweize Venema (* 1951 in Jakarta ) is a Dutch programmer and physicist who is best known for his mail server (MTA) Postfix . He has also written numerous security tools, such as: B. The Coroner's Toolkit , SATAN (together with Dan Farmer ) and TCP Wrapper .

biography

Wietse, as he is generally known for short, studied physics at the University of Groningen , where he also received his doctorate. He spent twelve years at the Technical University of Eindhoven as a systems architect in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science . There he wrote programs for electronic data exchange . In 1996 Wietse emigrated to the USA and worked for the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center . He has been working for Google in New York since March 24, 2015 .
