Viktor Wladimirowitsch Wagner

Viktor Wladimirowitsch Wagner ( Russian Виктор Владимирович Вагнер ; born November 4, 1908 in Saratov , † August 15, 1981 ) was a Russian mathematician who dealt with geometry.

Wagner studied at Lomonossow University in Moscow, where he did his doctorate under Weniamin Kagan . He became a professor of geometry at the University of Saratov . He dealt with differential geometry and semigroups . In 1952 he founded the study of inverse semigroups.

In 1937 he received the Lobachevsky Medal .
