The wild and natural park Erik Berg (Swedish: Erik Berg vilt och nature park) is a southern Sweden situated Nature Park .

The nine square kilometer park is located near the village of Åryd in Karlshamn municipality . It is owned by Rune Andersson Mellby Gård AB. Visitors can drive through the park in their own car on set routes.

history

The 900 hectare property was given the property rights and the name Eriksberg in 1781 by the then owner, Count Eric Ruuth . In 1938 the estate passed into the possession of the nature filmmaker Bengt Berg . He tended the area to conduct experiments with deer . For this purpose, their houses were bought from the residents.

In the park

Red deer , fallow deer , bison , wild boar and mouflon live in the park , as well as numerous water birds. The area is overgrown with oak forests, hornbeam forests and conifers. White and red water lilies grow on a large lake in the park, Färsksjön . The park borders the archipelago and offers a rocky landscape typical of Blekinge .

The wildlife park is open from June to August.
