The Wildbichler Brücke is a road bridge in Kufstein in Tyrol . It leads over the Inn , the Tiroler Straße B 171 and the Unterinntalbahn . The Inntal motorway A 12 and Wildbichler Straße B 175 run on two separate bridge structures. The bridge is a critical traffic junction for urban traffic and international north-south traffic on the A 12.
The bridge was built in the course of the highway construction 1966-1969. It was the first bridge to be constructed using the incremental launching method developed by Willi Baur and Fritz Leonhardt . The individual structural sections were built on the abutment and pushed forward using auxiliary supports.
In December 1988, during a routine inspection of the structure, severe corrosion damage was found in places. As a result, the entire prestressing was renewed and the tendons replaced by the beginning of July 1990 . On July 11, 1990, the road suddenly sagged and all traffic routes on and under the bridge had to be closed due to the risk of collapse. The 52 m long river pillar on which all three structures lie had set up by 25 cm on the upstream side and by 1.4 m on the downstream side and was inclined. For the renovation, the subsoil was stabilized, the river pillar sheathed, the supporting structures raised to their original position and the prestressed reinforcement replaced. In June 1992 the bridge was opened to traffic again. Until then, all motorway and main road traffic was diverted through the Kufstein city center and the ÖBB line was temporarily closed.
