Wilfred Agbonavbare (born October 5, 1966 in Lagos , † January 27, 2015 in Alcalá de Henares , Spain ) was a Nigerian football goalkeeper .
Career
Agbonavbare played in his home country for the clubs New Nigeria Bank FC from Benin City and the BCC Lions based in the city of Gboko before moving to Rayo Vallecano in Spain in 1990 . After a year-long stint with Écija Balompié in the Segunda División , he ended his active career in 1997.
Between 1983 and 1994 he played 15 international matches for the Nigerian national team , in whose squad he was at the 1994 African Cup and the 1994 World Cup .
Wilfred Agnonavbare died on January 27, 2015 as a result of cancer.
