Wilfried Rinke

Wilfried Rinke (* 1931 in Salzderhelden near Einbeck ) is a German agricultural and brewing scientist. In addition to his work as managing director of the Holsten brewery, from 1980 to 1989 he was president of the experimental and educational institute for brewery (VLB).

Life

In 1955, Rinke began studying brewery technology in Berlin. In 1961 he did his dissertation with Paul Kolbach on the extract-forming substances of brewer's grains at the Faculty of Agriculture at the TU Berlin . He then worked for Holsten-Brauerei AG in Hamburg, of which he was a member of the board until 1999. From 1980 to 1988 he was chairman of the administrative board of the VLB in Berlin. During his term of office, the economically difficult period for the VLB fell during which the university brewery had to be sold. Nevertheless, Rinke managed to hand over a newly established VLB to his successor Axel Th. Simon in 1988 . In 1999 he was appointed the first honorary president of the VLB.

Rinke lives in Holm-Seppensen .
