Wilfried Wester-Ebbinghaus

Wilfried Wester-Ebbinghaus (born January 17, 1947 in Bielefeld ; † July 12, 1993 in the North Sea ) was professor of photogrammetry and cartography at the TU Braunschweig from 1986 until his death .

Life

Wester-Ebbinghaus attended school in Bielefeld. In 1968 he began studying surveying at the University of Bonn , which he completed in 1973 as a graduate engineer. He then became a research assistant at the Institute for Photogrammetry at the University of Bonn, where he was awarded a Dr.-Ing. received his doctorate . The title of his dissertation was on process development in close-range photogrammetry . In 1983 he completed his habilitation with the writing single point self-calibration - a contribution to the field calibration of receiving chambers . In the same year he became professor at the University of Hanover and then in 1986 professor for photogrammetry and cartography at the TU Braunschweig.

His main areas of work were close-range photogrammetry, digital photogrammetry, developments of "partial measuring cameras" and system calibration.
