Wilfried Westheide

Wilfried Westheide (born November 3, 1937 in Bielefeld ) is a German biologist and chemist .

biography

Wilfried Westheide studied biology, chemistry and geography at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1988 he received an appointment to the University of Osnabrück for the chair of special zoology. Wilfried Westheide's main research interests are the elucidation of the morphology, the systematics and the evolution of invertebrates, especially the annelids .

Wilfried Westheide is one of the leading zoologists and systematists in Germany. Together with his Innsbruck colleague Reinhard Rieger, he has published several standard works in the field of biology .
