Wilfried Zankl

Wilfried Zankl (born June 24, 1976 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Since March 2019 he has been district chairman of the 12th Viennese district of Meidling .

Life

After completing elementary school in Bischoffgasse and the Bundesrealgymnasium Rosasgasse, Wilfried Zankl studied mechanical engineering and foundry technology at the HTL Vienna 10 , where he graduated in 1996 . He then worked in a construction office. Since 2000 he has been a consultant at Municipal Department 39, the testing, monitoring and certification body of the City of Vienna, and since 2002 he has been the deputy laboratory manager of the civil engineering laboratory.

He began his political career in 2000 in the SPÖ Wien-Meidling, where he was chairman of the young generation from 2002 to 2011 . From 2008 to 2012 he was also chairman of the young generation of the SPÖ Vienna.

From 2006 he was a district councilor of the district representation in Meidling, from 2008 to 2013 he was chairman of the transport commission and from 2013 chairman of the building committee. From 2015 he acted as the deputy of district head Gabriele Votava . On March 29, 2019 Votava put back the office of District Chairwoman after 16 years, Zankl was elected at the meeting of the district council to district director of health and social and Councilor Peter Hacker sworn in . Katharina Weninger became the new deputy district chairwoman.

Zankl is the father of two daughters. His grandmother was also a district councilor in Meidling.
