Gabriele Votava

Gabriele Votava (born March 18, 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From March 2003 to March 2019, she was district head of the 12th Viennese district of Meidling .

Life

Votava entered the service of the Vienna municipality in 1977 and subsequently worked as an administrative officer. From 1984 to 1994 she worked in the office of the Financial and Economic Policy Business Group and was most recently the office manager of Vice Mayor Hans Mayr . In 1994 she moved to Mayor Michael Häupl's presidential department and was active as the head of the Citizens Service Department until 2003.

Votava joined the SPÖ in 1975 and was active in the younger generation of the SPÖ-Meidling. In 1990 she became a member of the district board of the SPÖ-Meidling, between 1991 and 2003 she worked as a district councilor and club chairwoman of the club of social democratic community and district representatives.

On March 20, 2003, she took over the office of district head in Meidling, and Wilfried Zankl succeeded her in this position on March 29, 2019 .
