Wilhelm Bette (born April 11, 1887 in Andreasberg , Meschede district , † February 15, 1967 ) was a German politician (CDU). In the first legislative period he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

After attending elementary school, Bette worked as a miner and from 1906 to 1933 he worked for the Christian Miners' Union, where he was the chairman and cashier of the pay offices for twenty years. From 1910 he was a member of the Catholic labor movement and from 1912 to 1933 works council and committee member of the Zeche Prinz-Regent of Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks AG, Bochum group. Until 1933 he was an honorary lay judge and an assessor at the labor courts.

After the Second World War, Bette co-founded the CDU in Bochum . From 1945 he was a member and employee of the unified trade union and chairman of the works committee of the Zeche Prinz-Regent. In October 1946 he was elected to the Bochum city council. A year later, he moved through a direct mandate in the constituency 104 Bochum-Süd in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, to which he belonged for an electoral term until June 17, 1950.
