Wilhelm Bing

Wilhelm Bing (born November 12, 1943 in Korbach ) is a German publisher and journalist . He studied economics in Marburg and Berlin and obtained his doctorate in 1969. rer. pole. He is married to Stephanie Bing, b. Bestehorn.

For many years he was a publisher and editor-in-chief of the Waldeckische Landeszeitung in Korbach. From 1975 he was a member of the board of the Association of Hessian Newspaper Publishers (VHZV), including from 1993 to 2003 as deputy chairman. From 1980 to 2003 he was also a member of the Assembly of Delegates of the Federal Association of German Newspaper Publishers (BDZV). From 1979 to 1984 he was a member of the advisory board and from 1984 to 1988 a member of the supervisory board of the STANDORTPRESSE, Bonn. He was deputy chairman of the advisory board of NEUE MEDIEN GmbH (1981) and deputy chairman of the shareholders' meeting of RTL Plus Hessen TV GmbH (1980).

From 1985 to 2004 he was a member of the ZDF television council and a member of the supervisory board of the German Press Agency (dpa).

He is co-founder of the state-wide Hessian private broadcaster Radio Tele FFH, Bad Vilbel, and was chairman of the shareholders 'meeting and the shareholders' committee from its foundation in 1988 to May 2016.

He is a co-founder of the state-wide Thuringian private broadcaster ANTENNE THÜRINGEN, Weimar, and has been a member and temporarily chairman of the shareholders 'meeting and the shareholders' committee since it was founded in 1992.

From 1979 to 2003 he was chairman of the regional committee for the Waldeck-Frankenberg district of the Kassel Chamber of Commerce and Industry and from 2000 to 2004 a member of the executive committee.

From 1986 to 2001 he was a member of the administrative board of the Marburg University Association, from 1989 to 2006 deputy chairman of the board of trustees of the Sparkassenstiftung Waldeck, member of the board of trustees of the Hessian Administration and Business Academy Kassel (1990) and founding president of the Korbach-Arolsen Lions Club (1971).
