Wilhelm Borgmann (forest scientist)

Wilhelm Borgmann (born June 21, 1869 in Klostermühle Klarenthal near Wiesbaden , † July 26, 1931 in Gießen ) was a German forest scientist .

Life

Borgmann studied at the Eberswalde Forest Academy and at the universities in Berlin, Freiburg and Munich. In 1897 he received his doctorate from the University of Munich . From 1903 he worked as a lecturer in Eberswalde and from 1909 to 1911 he worked as a Prussian chief forester in Kastellaun . From 1911 to 1917 Borgmann taught as a professor of forestry and head of the yield science department of the Saxon Forest Research Institute at the Tharandt Forestry University . From 1917 he taught at the University of Giessen .

Borgmann was editor and employee of the magazine "Der Forstschutz".
