Wilhelm Dupré (born August 9, 1936 in Hermeskeil ) is a German religious philosopher .

Life

Dupré studied philosophy and ethnology from 1955 to 1963 at the St. Gabriel University in Mödling and the University of Vienna . From 1963 to 1965 he was an assistant at the Philosophical Institute at the University of Vienna. From 1965 to 1974 he was Professor of Philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago. From 1974 he was professor for the philosophy of religion and general religious studies at the University of Nijmegen . He has been married to Dietlind Kovar since 1963.
