Wilhelm Eder (printer)

Wilhelm Eder († 1660 in Ingolstadt ), printer in Ingolstadt, came from an Ingolstadt printer family.

He was the son of Wolfgang Eder and his wife Elisabeth Widmann (second marriage on May 26, 1599 with Andreas Angermaier). Admitted to the register of the University of Ingolstadt on January 13, 1600 , he learned from his stepfather Angermaier and in 1617 he received the management of the business from his mother, which he continued for years with great vigor. Due to the chaos of the war ( Thirty Years War ) and the scarce incoming print jobs, he slowly lost interest in his business and sold it in 1647 to Johannes Ostermaier from Wangen im Allgäu. He died in Ingolstadt in 1660 while peddling the university.

Wilhelm Eder was married to a daughter of the Eichstätter Hofschneider (later also a member of the city council and 1614 mayor) Johann / Joannes Nickhl and his wife Catharina. Catharina Nickhl was executed as a witch in Ingolstadt in 1629 .
