Wilhelm Elfe

Wilhelm Elfe (born July 30, 1843 in Kleinwittenberg ; † April 9, 1931 in Wittenberg ) was a city councilor and honorary citizen of Wittenberg .

Life

On February 17, 1874, Elfe acquired citizenship in Wittenberg and hired himself as a chimney sweep. On January 1, 1878 Elfe joined the Wittenberg city council and was introduced to his office on September 21, 1894 instead of the excluded city councilor Bosse. His many years of activity as chairman of the building commission deserve special mention.

Elfe mainly managed the building and economics department with excellent skill. During his tenure, among other things, the middle school and Elstervorstadtschule building were built. He was not only a city councilor, but also a member of many city commissions. At the same time, Elfe was active in numerous clubs and corporations. That is why the city of Wittenberg honored him with honorary citizenship on September 12, 1918 in recognition of his long and meritorious work as a city councilor and member of the magistrate. On September 20, 1918, he resigned from the magistrate's college.
