Wilhelm Faust (born October 23, 1930 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper who came to 43 appearances in the Oberliga West for Meidericher SV .

Career

In 1951 the Meidericher SV was promoted to the Oberliga West, which was the top division in the then still regionally limited league system. Faust stood next to regular goalkeeper Erwin Pajonk and Walter Tannemann as the third goalkeeper in the team. After Pajonk had injured himself a few weeks earlier and Tannemann had initially taken over as substitute, Faust, who was also nicknamed "Bubi", made his league debut on March 23, 1952 at a home game against Rot-Weiss Essen .

Following his debut, he was regularly called up and was able to compete with Pajonk for the role in the starting eleven at times. From 1954, however, he had to be content with a reservist role and was hardly considered for missions. In 1955 he also had to accept the relegation of his team, which was followed a year later, however, by direct promotion. In the summer break of 1956, a new goalkeeper was signed with Hans-Joachim Sommer . At this time, Faust left the MSV, for which he had stood in 43 league games and three games in the 2nd division West .
