Wilhelm Friedrich Gustav von Canstein

Wilhelm Friedrich Gustav von Canstein (born May 29, 1761 in Kassel ; † September 20, 1830 there ) was mayor of Kassel.

Life

Von Canstein was the son of the chief falconer Ludolf von Canstein from the Canstein family . He was court squire, chamberlain and in 1783 an auditor at the Kassel Higher Appeal Court . In 1787 he became district administrator on the Diemelstrom and in 1796 chamberlain. In 1798 the districts were abolished and he retired with a high pension. In 1804 he joined the War College as a secret war council. In the Kingdom of Westphalia , he was 1807-1813 Mayor (Maire) from Kassel. After the restoration of the electoral state, he was again a secret war council and in 1821 castle captain. In 1824 he was awarded the House Order of the Golden Lion, 1st class.
