Wilhelm Hein (politician, 1870)

Wilhelm Hein (born July 18, 1870 in Barmen ; † after 1933) was a German politician ( DNVP ).

Life

Hein attended elementary school, completed an apprenticeship in plastering and did military service in the Prussian army from 1892 to 1894 . He worked as a plasterer until 1910 and continued his education with economic and social courses. From 1910 he worked as a trade union secretary for the Bergisch-Märkische District Association of Protestant Workers' Associations in Barmen. On October 11, 1914, he volunteered for military service as a non-commissioned officer. Until 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier , most recently with the rank of sergeant.

After the end of the war he continued his work as a workers secretary, from 1921 to 1924 as secretary of the cartel of the Christian trade unions in the Bergisches Land. In addition, Hein was head of the West German General Secretariat of the Evangelical Social School and organizational officer of the German Evangelical Heimstättengesellschaft mbH based in Berlin . In Barmen he was a member of the supervisory board of various workers 'and salaried employees' building cooperatives. He was also a member of the Barmer District Synod and the Rhenish Provincial Synod as well as a deputy member of the General Synod of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Hein joined the German National People's Party (DNVP) and was a city councilor in Barmen from 1919 to 1929. In December 1924 he was elected to the Prussian state parliament, to which he initially belonged until the end of the third legislative period in 1932. From September 7, 1932, when he replaced the resigned MP Eduard Stadtler , until the dissolution of the corporation in October 1933, he was again a member of the state parliament. In parliament he represented constituency 23 (Düsseldorf-West).
