Wilhelm Heinrich Carl Tenhaeff
Wilhelm Heinrich Carl Tenhaeff (born January 18, 1894 in Rotterdam , † July 9, 1981 in Utrecht ) was a Dutch parapsychologist and the first holder of a university chair for parapsychology worldwide .
Tenhaeff studied philosophy, psychology and ethnology. In 1928 he founded the Tijdschrift voor Parapsychologie . In 1933 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on extrasensory perception . In the same year he got a teaching position in parapsychology at the University of Utrecht. He was a resistance fighter during World War II and went underground in 1942. After the war he founded a parapsychological institute at the University of Utrecht, where he was given a chair in parapsychology in 1953. His research on the Dutch paragnost Gérard Croiset and his space experiment became particularly well known .
