Wilhelm J. Steiner

Wilhelm J. Steiner (born May 8, 1918 in Salzburg ; † June 24, 1985 there ) was an Austrian radio author and dialect poet. He worked in Salzburg.

Steiner worked for the radio, was the author and arranger of numerous radio plays, but also wrote and supervised Austrian dialect publications in book form, in addition to his own works, for example, Karl Heinrich Waggerl or a collection such as Painted Peasant Chest. Together with Hermann Delacher , he was one of the first to revive the dormant tradition of the dialect messe with D 'Salzburga Arme-Leut'-Mess' (premiere 1959) . This work was premiered on the Salzburger Rundfunk and was also published on a record in 1962. Wilhelm J. Steiner appeared on this as a speaker.
