Life and activity

Jung was the son of a teacher from Katzenbach near Landstuhl. He also began his own career as a primary school teacher: He first graduated from the teacher training college in Kaiserslautern and then worked as a primary school teacher in Kusel and Zweibrücken. In 1901 he became a teacher at the girls' college in Ludwigshafen, most recently with the rank of study professor. In 1926 he retired. In addition to his professional obligations, Jung emerged as a pianist and chamber musician and played a “decisive” (Fauck) role in the musical life of his hometown.

From 1929 to 1933, Jung sat for the DVP on the Ludwigshafen city council. Before the First World War he was a member of the National Liberal Party.

Jung was married to Frieda, geb. Friedrich. The marriage had three children, including the politician and writer Edgar Jung , who was murdered by the SS in 1934 as part of the so-called Röhm Putsch .
