Wilhelm Knottek

Wilhelm Knottek (born August 23, 1876 in Klosterneuburg , † March 8, 1947 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ) and ÖBB employee. Knottek was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1919 to 1921 and from 1927 to 1932 .

Life

Knottek attended elementary and community school and learned the profession of plumber. He then entered the service of the Austrian Federal Railways and was most recently chief conductor . Knottek was secretary of the workers' education association "Ferdinand Lassalle" in Döbling , but was later based again in Klosterneuburg. In addition, he was politically active as chairman of the workers 'and soldiers' council in Klosterneuburg and was involved as the editor of the public tribune . Between 1919 and 1922 he held the office of mayor of Klosterneuburg. He was a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag Curia from May 20, 1919 to May 11, 1921, and was a member of the Lower Austrian State Parliament between May 11, 1921 and May 21, 1932. In 1934 Knottek was arrested in the course of the February fighting and the ban on the Social Democratic Party.
