Wilhelm Kuehs

Wilhelm Kuehs (born November 19, 1972 in Wolfsberg ) is an Austrian writer and Germanist .

Life

Wilhelm Kuehs grew up in St. Stefan in Lavanttal . He studied German and comparative literature at the University of Klagenfurt . During his studies he worked for various Carinthian daily newspapers. From 1999 to 2001 Kuehs worked as a lecturer for German language and literature at the Croatian Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek . In the meantime he is also a lecturer at the University of Klagenfurt. In July 2014 he did his doctorate there in German Philology .

Wilhelm Kuehs has published several novels and non-fiction books, he gained particular fame with his publications of legends from Carinthia and the surrounding Adriatic region.

As part of the Bleiburg literary competition “Carinthia literally - Koroška v besedi”, he won the main prize in the prose category in November 2014 with his text Sarajevo Falling. In May 2015, the first volume of his crime series about the journalist Ernesto Valenti was published with “The Last Rock Has No Bags”.

He is married and lives with his family in Völkermarkt .
