Wilhelm Mandl

Wilhelm Mandl (born May 5, 1910 in Knittelfeld , † November 30, 1978 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and district school inspector. From 1969 to 1970 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Mandl attended five classes in an elementary school and then switched to four classes at the community school in Knittelfeld. He then graduated from the federal teacher training institute in Graz and then worked as a teacher and director of various elementary and secondary schools in Styria. In May 1934 Mandl joined the Ostmärkische Sturmscharen , but was dismissed because of his activities for the NSDAP and transferred to Fohnsdorf near Murau because of his National Socialist attitude . In June 1934 he joined the banned NSDAP in Fohnsdorf and became "illegal" . In June 1936 he left the party, but joined the SA In Fohnsdorf on December 12, 1937 . In April 1938 he joined the SS . As a former “illegal”, Mandl applied for membership in the NSDAP in May 1938, which was retroactive to May 1, 1938. He was assigned the membership number 6.218.211. In 1945 he was promoted to district school inspector. He was given the professional title of government councilor. From 1955 Mandl became politically active as the main district group chairman of the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB) and from 1956 was also the main district party chairman of the ÖVP in the Deutschlandsberg district . He represented the ÖVP between June 26, 1969 and March 31, 1970 in the National Council.
