Wilhelm Mohr (politician)

Wilhelm Mohr (* 29. December 1885 in Elmshorn , † 3. June 1969 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Mohr, who was of the Evangelical Lutheran faith , completed training at various tree nurseries in Germany , France and the Netherlands . He then attended the Horticultural College (LuFA from 1924) in Berlin-Dahlem . In 1912 he and a partner founded a tree nursery in Elmshorn, which he became sole owner in 1929.

Mohr was married and had two children. On December 12, 1955, he was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Cross of Merit.

Political party

Mohr was district chairman of the CDU in the Pinneberg district .

Since 1950 Mohr was parliamentary group leader of the German electoral bloc parliamentary group consisting of the CDU and other bourgeois parties in the district assembly of the Pinneberg district.

From 1947 to 1958 Mohr was a member of the state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein . He represented the constituency of Pinneberg-Ost in parliament. After he had been deputy parliamentary group chairman since 1950, he was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament on September 13, 1952. He kept this office until he left parliament. From 1954 to 1958 he was also the deputy chairman of the economic committee of the state parliament.

The state parliament elected Mohr as a member of the first two federal assemblies , which elected Theodor Heuss as federal president in 1949 and 1954 .
