Wilhelm Schabram

Wilhelm Schabram (born June 11, 1916 in Gelsenkirchen , † January 17, 1942 ) was a German football player .

The factory worker and welder Schabram played football for FC Schalke 04 in his hometown of Gelsenkirchen in the second half of the 1930s . However, the left defender did not get beyond the role of the substitute player. In the Gauliga Westphalia 1937/38 he was used four times; In the championship round in 1938 he was in two group games - against SV Dessau 05 and VfR Mannheim - for Walter Berg and Otto Schweisfurth, respectively . In the Tschammerpokal in 1939 he was also allowed to play for the Blues in the 3: 4 first round defeat in Hamburg against SC Victoria .

Schabram was drafted into the Wehrmacht in January 1940 and served first in France, then in the east with the occupation forces. He died in January 1942 while being transported to the first aid station.
