Wilhelm Schumann (politician, 1795)

Wilhelm Schumann (born August 31, 1795 in Rhoden , † November 18, 1877 in Arolsen ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Schumann was the son of the master baker and mayor Johann Jakob Schumann and his wife Susanne Catharina nee Fischer. He married Emma Mathilde Frensdorf on June 14, 1829 in Arolsen.

He did two years of practical training in legal transactions and was clerk in Landau from 1819 to 1926. At the same time or afterwards he studied law in Göttingen. In 1927 he became a lawyer and government procurator in Arolsen. In 1831 he became secretary and in 1835 council and senior pension officer in Alt-Wildungen. From 1850 to 1869 he was a district councilor in the Twiste district .

From 1855 to 1859 he was a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont . He was elected in the constituency Kreis der Eder . From 1859 to 1869 he was again a member of parliament, this time for the constituency of the Twiste district . Between 1856 and 1858 he was Deputy President of the State Parliament, from 1862–1863 and 1867 he was President of the State Parliament.
