Wilhelm VIII of Angelach-Angelach († before 1574) was an imperial knight in the knight canton of Kraichgau from the family of the Lords of Angelach .

family

Wilhelm VIII. Was the son of Wilhelm VII. Von Angelach-Angelach († before 1536) and Apollonia von Uben. His second marriage was to Ursula Leiningerin von Leinburg , the widow of Philipp von Gemmingen († 1544/49). Presumably his daughter Anna IV († 1577) comes from the first marriage with Barbara von Fleckenstein. Likewise, presumably the following sons: Dieter XI., Georg IV. Ludwig and Hans IV. David.

Life

Wilhelm VIII inherited the Streichenberg Castle and was forced to sell part of his property from 1552 due to high debts. From 1552 he sold farms and forest areas to the Lords of Gemmingen . 1556 he was with parts of Erpfenhofes in Berwangen invested . His financial situation worsened and he was therefore forced to sell more goods in the Gemmingen district . Finally, in 1560, he had to sell his ancestral home in Streichenberg and received 44,000  florins from Philipp von Neipperg . In 1562 he sold his share in the Erpfenhof. Posterity and his descendants will remember him as a spendthrift.
