Wilhelm von Hatzfeld

Wilhelm von Hatzfeld (* after 1523 ; † in the 16th century) was canon in Münster and Paderborn .

Life

Wilhelm von Hatzfeld came from the noble family von Hatzfeld , who came from the upper Lahngau and whose name was derived from the parent company Hatzfeld . Numerous well-known personalities have emerged from it. He was the son of Hermann von Hatzfeld zu Werther (1493-1539) and his wife Anna Droste von Schweckhausen († 1553). They married in 1523. Through the marriage, which had eight children, the Werther estate came into the possession of the family in 1526 . Wilhelm's brother Johann († 1564, ∞ Anna von Wendt ) succeeded his father as Herr zu Werther. His brother Sebastian was canon in Münster, Heinrich canon in Münster and Paderborn. Wilhelm's uncle Georg was cathedral dean in Münster. 1559 Wilhelm received a Münstersche Dompräbende to which he renounced in the same year in favor of the canon Konrad von Westerholt. The sources do not give any further information about his further life.
