The Wilhelmspark is a park in the city center of Bad Soden am Taunus .

history

Wilhelmspark was built in 1911 on behalf of the city of Bad Soden. The garden architects Gebrüder Siesmayer from Frankfurt am Main were commissioned for this . The park was laid out on the former main street (today: Zum Quellenpark ). At first it was called "Kaiser Wilhelm Park". In order to build this, some old farms had to give way, including the Philosopher's Garden . On May 23, 1911, the park was completed and received a fence with wire mesh, as the facility was only intended for spa guests.

At the municipal council on August 26, 1924, the park was renamed. The park was assigned to the Quellenpark a few meters away and was also called "Quellenpark" from that point on.

In 1987/88 the park was restored after it had hardly been maintained for several years. The fountains of the sources of the champagne fountain , bell fountain and winkler fountain were also renovated. Since then the park has been called "Wilhelmspark" again.

location

The Wilhelmspark is located on today's street Zum Quellenpark ( main street until 1977 ). In the north the park borders on the Hundertwasserhaus, built in 1991, and the Sulzbach . To the west, the park borders on Talstrasse and the Rohrwiese educational park .
