The Sulzbach rises west of the Johanniswald and south of Königstein - Mammolshain (within the district of Bad Soden ). It flows in a south-southeast direction through the Bad Soden-Altenhain district. It then crosses the cities of Bad Soden and Sulzbach (Taunus) in a south-easterly direction . Then it flows through a stretch of meadows and fields in order to reach the urban area of Frankfurt am Main after crossing under the federal highway 66 . In the area of the Frankfurt-Sossenheim district , the Sulzbach flows into the Nidda on the southwestern edge of the Sossenheimer Unterfeld , immediately west of the Im Mittleren Sand housing estate .
