Willesden Green is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Brent . It is on the border of the Travelcard tariff zones 2 and 3, on Walm Lane. The station served by the Jubilee Line was used by 8.82 million passengers in 2014.

The station was opened on November 24, 1879 by the Metropolitan Railway (predecessor of the Metropolitan Line ). For a few months it was the end of the line until the line was extended on August 2, 1880 towards Harrow-on-the-Hill . From November 20, 1939, trains of the Bakerloo Line stopped here, taking over the traffic on the Stanmore branch line. The parallel traffic only lasted a few months; to enable acceleration and unbundling, trains on the Metropolitan Line have passed this station without stopping since December 7, 1940. On May 1, 1979, the newly opened Jubilee Line took over the traffic of the Bakerloo Line.

There are still platforms on the platforms of the Metropolitan Line, but these are generally not used and are cordoned off. Exceptions are isolated trains after the start of operations and shortly before the end of operations. The station building has been a listed building ( Grade II ) since 2006 ; the outer walls are clad in white faience marble, while the walls of the counter hall are made of green Tessera mosaics.
