Harrow-on-the-Hill is a train station in the London Borough of Harrow . The important traffic junction is in the Travelcard tariff zone 5. It was frequented by 9.21 million underground railway passengers in 2013, plus 1.411 million railway passengers. The station is served on the one hand by the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground , on the other hand by express trains of the railway company Chiltern Railways , which have their starting point in London's Marylebone station .

The facility consists of six through tracks. Two tracks are normally used by Chiltern Railways and four by the Metropolitan Line. The arrangement of the tracks also allows for more flexible operational management. There are two entrances: the southern one is on Station Approach and the northern one is on College Road by the bus station . About one kilometer to the west, the route branches into two branches to Uxbridge and Amersham .

The opening of the Harrow station took place on August 2, 1880 by the Metropolitan Railway (predecessor company of the Metropolitan Line). It was the terminus for five years and was located in the center of the area that later became known as Metro-land . On June 25, 1885, the route was extended further north-west. On June 1, 1894, the station was given its current name. Trains society Great Central Railway wrong the first time on March 15, 1899 between London Marylebone and Aylesbury . On July 4, 1904, the line was opened towards Uxbridge.
