Willi Busch (actor)

Wilhelm "Willi" Karl Jakob Busch (born April 23, 1893 in Siegen , † May 10, 1951 in Cologne ) was a German actor .

Life

His father was the violin maker Wilhelm Busch .

Willi Busch did an apprenticeship as a bookseller in Cologne in his youth, where he also attended drama school in Cologne. In 1912 he had his first engagement at the Deutsches Theater in Cologne. In 1914 he was appointed to the German Art Theater in Berlin . During the First World War he was a member of the Front Theater as a soldier. From 1919 to 1947 he had an engagement at the Stadttheater Bochum , and he also directed the Bochum drama school . From 1947 until his death he was a member of the Cologne City Theater .

Willi Busch was the brother of the conductor Fritz Busch , the violinist and composer Adolf Busch , the cellist Hermann Busch and the pianist Heinrich Busch . Since 1931 he was married to Margarete Thelemann.

Busch died at the age of 58 of a heart attack in a Cologne hospital.
