Willi Tietze

Wilhelm 'Willi' Tietze (born March 25, 1910 , † February 21, 1944 in the Brandenburg prison ) was a German sign painter and resistance fighter against National Socialism . In 1944 he was a victim of the Nazi war justice system .

Tietze belonged to the KPD until 1933 . Tietze was forcibly recruited for military service in 1940 . Because of his political convictions, he deserted . In 1942 he was arrested, sentenced to death by the Reich Court Martial and finally executed in the Brandenburg penitentiary .

Since 1952, an aluminum plaque on the house at Lehnestrasse 20 in Berlin-Kaulsdorf has been commemorating Tietze.
