Willi Karl Wagner (born August 5, 1951 in Wetzlar ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Willi Wagner played at SV Darmstadt 98 from 1971 . He played with the lilies in the then second-class Regionalliga Süd . When the 2nd Bundesliga was introduced in 1974 , Wagner and the Darmstadt team qualified for the new southern season. In this league he celebrated his greatest successes, he was promoted to the Bundesliga twice - in 1978 and 1981 . After the ascent, the direct descent followed both times. His last season he played in the second division. In total, he made 360 league appearances and 29 goals for Darmstadt. He also took part in eight promotion games to the Bundesliga in the 1972/73 season.
After his career as a football player, Willi Wagner worked as a high school teacher for chemistry, politics and economics at the Eichendorffschule in Wetzlar-Dalheim.
Wagner is an active member of the AfD .
