Willi Wessel

Willi Wessel (born January 7, 1937 in Diepenau ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school he trained as a mining apprentice and was until 1957 miner . After passing the Hauer examination , he served as until 1970 Hauer busy. He then became operations director, labor director and managing director at various companies.

Wessel has been a member of the SPD since 1955. He is active in numerous party committees, such as B. as chairman of the SPD city association Herten. Since 1952 he has been a member of IG Bergbau und Energie .

In 1996 Wessel received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. In 2007 the city of Herten granted him honorary citizenship of the city.
