Willi Wittrock

Willi Wittrock (born August 2, 1898 in Kassel ; † March 23, 1966 ) was a German lawyer, civil servant and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Wittrock embarked on a civil service career, worked as a municipal civil servant in Kassel from 1919 to 1923 and participated in the founding of the General German Civil Service Association . He studied law and political science at the universities in Göttingen and Berlin from 1924 , passed the first state examination in law at the Higher Regional Court in Celle in 1929 and then became head of the legal department of the Kassel welfare office. After the " takeover " of the National Socialists, he was removed from office.

Political party

Wittrock joined the SPD in 1919 and was co-founder of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold organization in 1923 .

In 1946 Wittrock was a member of the State Assembly of Greater Hesse, which advised the constitution . He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1946 to 1962 , where he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1950 to 1954. From 1954 to 1962 he was Vice-President of the State Parliament.

Public offices

Wittrock was head of human resources for the city of Kassel in 1945 and served there as a full-time city councilor from 1946 to 1948.
