William Amaral de Andrade , short William, (born December 27, 1967 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a former Brazilian football player.

Career

William began his career in 1985 with Botafogo FR , he was under contract for two years. His next two stations were the Portuguese clubs Nacional Funchal and Vitória Guimarães . He spent five years and the longest time with a club from 1990 to 1995 at Benfica Lisbon . He then moved to the French club SC Bastia . He played 61 league games from 1996 to 2000 with the Spanish club SD Compostela . At the end of his career, he returned for two years, 2000 to 2002, to the Vitória Guimarães club and ended his career in 2002.

In 2004 he began his career as a football coach at the Valenciano club. After one season he moved to the SD Compostela club for the 2006/07 season . After a year break, he coached this club for three more years. In 2012 he ended his career as a football coach with the Portuguese club Vilaverdense FC .
