William Baziotes
William Baziotes (born June 11, 1912 in Pittsburgh , † June 6, 1963 in New York ) was an American painter and a representative of Abstract Expressionism .
Life
Baziotes studied at the National Academy of Design in New York from 1933 to 1936. From the beginning of the 1950s he developed his characteristic style of underwater landscapes, which were populated by very few animals and plants. In 1959, Baziotes was a participant in documenta 2 in Kassel , in the field of painting.
