Daidalion
Daidalion ( Greek Δαιδαλίων ) is a figure in Greek mythology . He is the son of Hesperus ( Lucifer ) and the brother of Keyx , the king of the Trachinians. Unlike his peace-loving brother, he was of a warlike nature. Daidalion was the father of the Chione (or Philonis ).
Daidalion's daughter Chione was a beauty and was accordingly courted by many men. Apollon and Hermes were among their recruits . When she was fourteen she was raped first by Hermes, then by Apollo. She became pregnant by both of them and gave birth to twins: Philammon , the singer and lyric player, who was Apollo's son, and Autolycus , cunning and clever, the son of Hermes.
Chione later rose over Artemis and was shot by him with an arrow. Out of sorrow and anger, Daidalion jumped from Parnassus , but was turned into a hawk by Apollo out of pity.
